WINDSOR — Bennie Griffin Brown, 66, passed away on Aug. 2, 2020, with his faithful canine companion, Tanner, by his side.

A retired school teacher, the Nansemond County native belonged to Windsor Baptist Church, and formerly of the Lion’s Club and Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission.

Bennie is survived by his brothers, Frank L. Brown Jr. and William Earle Brown; nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m., in Windsor Cemetery with Rev. John Corson officiating.

The family requests that you please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing standards for the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windsor Baptist Church or the Suffolk Humane Society. Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
