BOYKINS — Mr. Michael Darnell Darden, 59, of Boykins, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, while in the comfort of his home.

Michael was born on Sunday, March 19, 1961, in Southampton County to the parentage of the late Hollie Darden Sr. and Mary Anna Drew Darden Bryant.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Bernita Worrell Darden of the home; daughters-at-heart, Jamica Issac (Shawn) of Virginia Beach, and Tanika Johnson (Kendall Sr.) of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Amari Stephenson, Niya Worrell, Kendall Johnson Jr., Kyron Johnson, Shad Issac and Shamir Issac; great-granddaughter, Kari ‘Gi-Gi’ Tisdell; siblings, Eddie Frank Darden and Joan Darden Whitehead, both of Branchville, Virginia; Lonnie Darden (Martha) of Jamaica, New York; Ernestine Henderson and Azalia Darden, both of Brooklyn, New York; special nieces and a nephew, Zita Whitehead, Kia Branch and Darius Richardson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.

T.L. Faison’s Funeral Care, 301 Park St., in Seaboard, North Carolina, has been entrusted with the arrangements where there will be a viewing on Sunday, Sept. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, in Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 30277 Little Texas Road in Branchville. Pastor Frank Lucas Jr. will be delivering words of comfort.
