To the Editor:

What has happened to the statesmen — men and women — in our government? Last week our government failed to pass a stimulus bill which would have helped the less privileged with their bills and also our community needs. Senator [Mark] Warner voted against this bill. It is sickening when elected officials think it is more important to do what the Party officials want than what the people in the community need.

Senator Warner, I know it doesn’t affect you or your family but it affects the people in Virginia. The Party officials think it is more important to do their agenda than to serve the people in our state.

Senator Warner, please put the people’s needs first and protect our counties from bankruptcy. Our children and grandchildren are going to have to pay the bills.
