Within the past month, a few people have written either letters or columns stating political views, particularly who they think should be voted into office. To those who have taken the time to express their thoughts in writing, we thank you. By doing so, you are part of the democratic process.

But with today’s publication, the opportunity has passed to write support of this candidate or that, one party or another. The cut-off is done as a way to be as fair to all the men and women seeking public office.

To print somebody’s letter or column next week in which an accusation is made against somebody would not allow time for a response.

However, we will publish entries if they are encouraging people to vote, but do not state who or which party to vote for or against.
