FRANKLIN β Junius Bradshaw was born on Oct. 12, 1924, and went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 17, 2021, at the age of 96.
He was a native of the Black Creek area of Southampton County, and lived his married life in the Colosse and Franklin areas of Isle of Wight County. He was employed with Union Camp for 42 years and was known as βThe Kite Man.β
He had been an active member of Black Creek, Colosse and Tucker Swamp Baptist churches.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Freda Wilkins Bradshaw, and 11 siblings.
He is survived by his sons and their wives, Gerald and Theresa, Steve and Jan; grandchildren, Darnelle Kellison (George), Russ (Stacey), Josh (Ann), Bryce (Taylor) and Hannah; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Colt, Piper and Grayson; and several nieces and nephews.
Additionally, he was blessed with special caregivers, Paulette, Wendy, Laverne, Vanessa, Krystal, Betsy and Audrey.
Because of the continued threat of COVID-19, a viewing will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will follow at Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor.
