FRANKLIN – Náeem “D-Con” Bashir of Stonewall Street, Franklin, departed this life on Jan. 16, 2021, at Accordius Health in Courtland. His earthly journey began on March 15, 1948, in Franklin.
Bashir was a 1969 graduate of Hayden High School. He moved to New York for many years and was gainfully employed with the U.S. Postal System in Mount Vernon, New York, for 11 years. Upon his return home, Bashir reconnected with New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon’s Ministry. Later he joined First Baptist Church on Hall Street in Franklin and there he remained until his demise.
Bashir was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Britt; brother, William McCoy Britt; and sister, Barbara Britt Reid.
The memory of “D-Con” will be cherished by three sons, Vincente Jarrett, Onaje Bashir and Bakeer Bashir; two brothers, Robert M. Britt (Gloria) and Michael S. Britt (Deborah); 13 grandchildren; one aunt, Ernestine Britt; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The service for Mr. Bashir is private; however, a public viewing will be in the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 6 p.m. A service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M.
