FRANKLIN – Catherine Johnson “Kitty” Perry, 91, passed away Feb. 20, 2021, in Wytheville.
Kitty was born in Franklin, (first baby born in the old Raiford Memorial Hospital). She was the only child of the late Frank Irvin and Nellie Worrell Whitley. Kitty was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Chesley “Buck” Johnson and her second husband, Merrill S. Perry.
Kitty was a member of Courtland Baptist Church, and a former quality control inspector for Birdsong Peanuts. She was a former co-president of the High Street Senior Citizens, and she was a former treasurer of the Hunterdale Senior Citizens.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Patricia Ann “Pat” Breedlove (David) of Mechanicsville; two sons, Larry Ray Johnson of Henrico and William F. “Bill” Johnson (Jayne) of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Brian M. Johnson (Wendi), Trevor D. Johnson (Emily), Justin Johnson, Nicholas Johnson and Bethany Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Savannah Johnson.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, in Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. 4th Ave., Franklin, with the Rev. Dr. John-Paul Lotz officiating.
A committal service will take place at 3 p.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hanover with Pastor Michael Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland Baptist Church.
