SEDLEY – Henry Bruce “H.B.” Bryant Jr., 80, passed away March 11, 2021, with Anne by his side. Born in Franklin on Oct. 27, 1940, he was a son of the late Henry B. Bryant Sr. and Lizzie Mae Spence Bryant. H.B. was also predeceased by a brother, Roy Bryant.
H.B. graduated from Southampton High School and was a retired quality control supervisor at Union Camp Corporation with 39 years of service. He was a member of Sedley Hunt Club, Sedley Ruritan Club and Southampton Agriculture and Forestry Museum. H.B. was a member of Sedley Baptist Church.
He was an avid collector of railroad memorabilia, especially Virginian Railway, a 30-plus year hobby enjoyed with his wife, Anne and the many good friends made along the way.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years, Anne Wood Bryant; a daughter, Wendy Bryant Harrison; a son, Henry B. “Hank” Bryant III (Vickie); a sister, Ann Bryant Gillette (Owen); a brother, David Bryant (Mary Lou); and a granddaughter, Ivey Bryant.
The family is grateful for the loving care of the Kindred Hospice staff, especially Angela Smith and Ebony Myrick.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Foreman officiating. The burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Sedley Baptist Church, 17494 Johnson’s Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878, Sedley Volunteer Fire Dept., P.
