NEWPORT NEWS – Donny Reed Bass Jr., 49, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2021 in his home. Reed was born in Franklin and reared in Courtland.

Reed was a graduate of Southampton High School and attended Paul D. Camp Community College and Thomas Nelson Community College. He was an Air Force veteran and a former IT technician for Newport News Public Schools.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Sandra Bruno Bass; two sisters, Diane Harper and Sheila LaFevers; a brother, Harrell Harper; two nieces, two nephews, a great niece, three great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held at a later date.
