Rock Lions soccer teams start with 4 wins

The Rock Church School varsity and junior varsity soccer teams decisively put games in the win column to start their seasons.

The varsity squad played its first game against Brunswick Academy and pulled out a 7-1 win. 

The Rock Lions wrapped up the game with D.J. Dillon, who had two goals and two assists, along with Christian Fanjul, who scored two goals. Joseph Doering, Caleb Doering and Jack Dillon all made one goal each, and Adam Deaton saved three shots on goal. 

Brunswick’s Carter Early scored his team’s lone goal, and Brunswick goalie Hunter Greene had eight saves. 

Rock Church’s junior varsity game against Brunswick ended in a 7-3 victory for the Rock Lions.

The second team to beat was Williamsburg Christian Academy. 

Rock Lions varsity won 6-1. D.J. Dillon accounted for one goal and four assists, while Fanjul added two goals and one assist. Luke Blythe, Jack Dillon and Benny Dillon each scored one goal. Deaton had five saves for the team.

Coach Dillon has worked hard to push the players to be a great team while also continuing to help them become great athletes, Rock Church School officials stated. Rock Lions look forward to more victories but ultimately to playing a good game and having an attitude that glorifies God. 

The Rock Lions next take on Isle of Wight Academy and powerhouse Richmond Christian School.
