A school system press release stated the process will chart the course of the division over the next five years.

The first step in the process is to conduct surveys and gather feedback from students, staff,  teachers, stakeholders and community members.

“Gathering input on the division’s strengths, opportunities, challenges and areas of improvement is a priority,” Superintendent Dr. Tamara Sterling said. “The information gathered from the engagement sessions and the survey will provide a roadmap for our new strategic plan.”

The community survey is posted to the division’s website, fcpsva.org, and social media sites. The direct web address is surveymonkey.com/r/FCPSStrategicPlan. The deadline to participate in the survey is May 21.

“The community is encouraged to participate,” school officials stated in the release.

The division will host virtual community engagement sessions with community members who  would like to participate in the strategic planning process. The Zoom meetings are scheduled for May 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and May 26 from 11 a.m. to noon.

People who are interested in participating in one of these sessions can visit fcpsva.org for the relevant links.

The release concluded by noting that the Virginia School Boards Association will assist Franklin City Public Schools with the strategic planning process.
