SUFFOLK – Thomas McCullouch “Tom” Bishop, 95, widower of Janet Robertson Bishop, passed away May 27, 2021 in his home. Tom was born December 21, 1925 in Daleville, Virginia and was a son of the late Olin Braxton and Eva Harris Bishop. He was also predeceased by two sisters, four brothers, a son, Richard and a granddaughter, Tracy. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and served in the European Theatre. He was a machine operator for St. Regis Paper Company in Franklin and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and baseball.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Patricia B. Williams of Morton, Mississippi; a son, Michael W. “Mike” Bishop (Lesli) of Courtland; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home prior to the service with the procession leaving at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
