Capron Elementary School celebrated its fifth-grade class on June 16.

The class entered the auditorium filled with parents, friends, teachers and staff as fifth-grade student, Jenny Davis, sang the song “Rise Up.” Fifth-grade students Kyonna Kitt, Leyla Pallone and Zachary Sakaria gave graduation speeches reflecting back on their years at Capron Elementary, sharing special memories and uplifting stories. The song “A Million Dreams” was played during a PowerPoint depicting pictures from throughout the year and telling how each student wanted to make the world a better place.

Diplomas were presented to the students by fifth grade teachers, Grayson Hasty and Sheila Roach assisted by Dr. Allison Francis, Principal of Capron Elementary School. As the students came onstage, Hasty and Roach played a PowerPoint highlighting each child and even gave them all a special gift that represented the different personalities of each child.

Presidential Educational Excellence pins were awarded to Sequoia Cutler and Tyler Hamlin for demonstrating academic success in the classroom. Closing remarks were given by Dr. Allison Francis and the students marched out of the auditorium to the tune of “Hall of Fame.”
