ISLE OF WIGHT – Kathryn Cobb Jenkins, 91, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021. She was born on Sept. 23, 1929, the youngest of the 11 children of the late Benjamin Madison and Pearl Barrett Cobb. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Julian C. Jenkins Jr. Kathryn was a faithful member of Colosse Baptist Church and its Adult Sunday School Class. She retired as a school bus driver for Isle of Wight County Public Schools.
She loved flowers and was a designer at Sandra’s House of Flowers for many years. Kathryn was a wonderful hostess and incredible cook – especially chicken pie, apple jacks and chocolate pie. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend.
Kathryn is survived by four daughters, Diann Whitley (Chuck), Joyce Carter (Gavin), Lou Ann Darden (Dennis) and Becky Cobb (Steve); eight grandchildren, Jon (Lisa), Chris (Jessica), Daniel (Brittany), Michael (Jennifer), Krystle, Tyson (Jennifer), Dustin and Josh; 11 great-grandchildren; and devoted friend, Peter Vick.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at 3 p.m. in the Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, 6361 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, Virginia, with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Young Adult Sunday School Class of Colosse Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice. Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
