SUFFOLK – Fancy Moore-Stewart, 50, passed away Sept. 15, 2021 in Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital. Born in Aberdeen, Maryland and reared in Virginia Beach, she was a graduate of Cox High School and was a lead scale attendant for Southeastern Public Service Authority. Fancy was a former daycare director in Selma, North Carolina and a former oncology veterinary tech at North Carolina State. She loved children and animals.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Stephen Allen Stewart; her parents, Melvin Gilliam Moore and Dorothy Starling Moore; her maternal grandmother, Mary Emily Johnson; her dear friends, Hae Jin and Jody Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Wright Funeral Home.

A funeral service will also be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, in Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 S. Pollock Street, Selma, North Carolina. Entombment will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Parrish Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to your local humane society or children’s charity.
