FRANKLIN – William Earl “Shotgun” Carr Sr., 82, passed away on Sept. 25, 2021 in East Pavilion. Born in Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late William Rossie Carr and Lois Bradshaw Carr. He was also predeceased by his siblings, John Peter Carr, Virginia Lassiter, Frank Carr and Oneal Gray.

Shotgun was a retired clamp driver in the Roll Finishing Department at Union Camp and a farmer.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Betty C. Story and her husband, Wayne of Franklin; a son, William E. “Bubba” Carr Jr. of Franklin; a sister, Florence Barnes of Carrsville; two grandchildren, Kristine Pearce and Stacy Barnes (Wesley); and two great-grandchildren, Declan Pearce and John Parker Barnes.

A private graveside service will be held at Southampton Memorial Park.
