NEWSOMS – Billie Sunday Lassiter, 73, passed away Jan. 7, 2022 in his home. Born and raised in Newsoms and a former resident of Franklin and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he was a son of the late Edwin Joshua Lassiter and Kathleen Wall Bryant. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Veronica Cook and Martha Jane Lakes and a brother, Bobby Lassiter.

Billie enjoyed arrowhead hunting, antiquing and feeding the squirrels.

Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Sylvia Anne Pope of Newsoms; two brothers, Charles E. Lassiter (Susan) of Newsoms and Edwin J. “Ease” Lassiter Jr. (Kathy) of Ahoskie, North Carolina; a special aunt, Olethia “Tinks” Taylor of Eure, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

At Billie’s request, there will be no service. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
