CAPRON – Glenda Gale Jackson, 75, passed away Jan. 11, 2022 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Leaford and Clemmie DeVille O’Banion.

Glenda was a graduate from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, Mississippi. She was a nurse and longtime employee at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi and then worked for Dr. Catherine Hirsch.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Sidney Jackson; two daughters, Donna Bernocco and Catherine Hudson; two sons, Richard Jackson Jr. and Michael Jackson; a brother, Leaford Wayne O’Banion; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home with Father Jong of St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Emporia. Burial will follow the service in Capron Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
