FRANKLIN – Dewey Wayne Edwards Jr., 52, passed away on Jan. 13, 2022 in Maryview Hospital. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Dewey Wayne Edwards, Sr.

Wayne received an associate’s degree from Chowan University and Paul D. Camp Community College. He was a security officer for Allied Universal.
He was a life member in perpetuity of the Franklin Masonic Lodge 151 A.F.&A.M., a member of the Khedive Shrine Temple in Chesapeake, a former member of the Khedive Temple Hillbillies Unit and a former member of the Franklin Shrine Club.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Betty Grizzard Edwards; his sister, Donna Edwards Rose and her husband, Davis; two nieces, Daelyn and Dutchess Rose; a nephew, Denver Rose and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service with Mason Rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18 in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland Youth Athletic Association, c/o Trina Johnson, 22424 Storys Station Road, Courtland, VA 23837.
