CHESTER, Virginia – Katherine Jones Youell, 72, of Chester, Virginia, left this life on Jan. 12, 2022. She was predeceased by parents Thomas G. Jones III and Kitty Doar Jones of Franklin.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas G. Jones IV of Franklin; sister, Maria Jones Tisdale of Richmond; husband of fifty years, John Youell of Chester and their two children, John Blanton Youell and Katherine Nelson Youell. She leaves five grandchildren, Maddie, Claire and Eli Youell, Liam and Ryn Pelletier-Youell; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was born in Richmond, raised in Franklin, graduated from Sweet Briar College in 1971 and earned a PhD in clinical psychology from MCV/VCU in 1979.

She worked in private practice for several years and was active with the church, having served on the Vestry of St. John’s Episcopal in Chester.

A private service with interment will follow for family members at Sunset Memorial Park.
