FRANKLIN – Franklin Garnar DeLoatch, 85, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2022. Born at home in Galatia, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Wiley Lloyd DeLoatch and Essie Mae Vinson DeLoatch. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Vinson DeLoatch and his wife, Joyce; John DeLoatch and his wife, Faye and David DeLoatch.
Frank, known as Hank to his family, was a retired millwright at Union Camp Corporation. He was a faithful member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Frank was a talented carpenter and jack of all trades and loved a good home improvement project at the homes of his daughters. They all did their best to keep him busy. He loved the Lord, his wife, his girls and his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of nearly 65 years, Judith DeLoatch and his three daughters: Deborah Rannigan (Gary), Linda DeLoatch and Beverly Ellis (Doug). He is also survived by a bonus daughter, Shirley Hayes; his grandchildren, Evan Rannigan, Alex Rannigan, Meaghan Ellis and Hunter Ellis; his sisters-in-law Margaret Gayle and Paula Tolson (Larry); and his faithful nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, on Jan. 29, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Curtis R. Faison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. The family suggests any memorial donations be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church.
