Mrs. Allen’s fourth-grade classes at Capron Elementary School have been studying the parts of a flower.
A press release from the school continued by noting that on Monday, March 24, students were able to dissect daffodils and clearly identify each part of the flower.
In learning the Virginia Standards of Learning objective 4.4, the students investigated and understood the basic plant anatomy and life processes. They were able to identify the structures of the flower and the function of each structure.
“The students had an amazing time performing this hands-on activity while they learned important information in science,” school officials stated. “Thank you to our community members who donated their beautiful flowers for this activity.”
