The Franklin City NAACP is seeking to raise funds to help the individuals who were injured in an explosion that occurred late Friday night, April 15, in a duplex in Franklin.
A press release from the Franklin City NAACP noted that two Franklin residents were critically injured after their homes exploded due to a gas leak.
“The Franklin City NAACP understands the devastating impact and needs of the individuals as they recover and attempt to rebuild,” officials stated in the release. “As a community, we have the ability to make a difference in the lives of those in need.”
Officials added that while no amount of money can erase this tragic event, the Franklin NAACP hopes to lessen the burden of the victims in some way.
“That’s why we are reaching out to you for assistance,” officials said, addressing all community members in the release. “Your support is key; we are relying on the support of generous individuals and businesses in our community. Would you be willing to join us by donating?”
The organization’s goal is to raise $50,000.
“Every donation makes a difference and will provide much-needed support for immediate and long-term needs,” officials stated.
