The Western Tidewater Tennis Association is helping out area high school tennis teams by offering training and equipment.
A WTTA press release continued by noting that local U.S. Professional Tennis Association Certified Tennis Pro Ken Cussick provided free tennis clinics to the Southampton High School boys and girls tennis teams this season. WTTA also collected slightly used tennis rackets, restrung them, regripped them and donated them to SHS tennis players that needed them.
In the past, WTTA has also provided tennis clinics and donated tennis rackets to Franklin High School’s girls and boys tennis teams.
WTTA, which is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides tennis clinics to juniors ages 5 through high school and also to adults year-round.
Those interested in playing tennis or pickleball can contact Cussick at 757-287-6678.
