COMO, North Carolina – William Clyde “Pete” Futrell, 78, passed away July 15, 2022. Born in Northampton County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Paul Jordan Futrell and Alice Byrum Futrell.

Pete was a graduate of Conway High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 82^nd Airborne. He was a retired machine tender on No. 2 paper machine at International Paper.

He was a member of Camp PD Hunt Club and enjoyed fox hunting with his Walker fox hounds and enjoyed camping at Kerr Lake.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, W. Scott Futrell of Como; five sisters, Joyce Taylor, Katherine Skinner, Linda Flythe, Norma Harrell and Lindy Radabaugh; two brothers, Paul and Danny Futrell; one grandchild, and his former wife, Nancy Bailey Futrell.

A private memorial service was held in Conway, North Carolina on Sunday, July 17, 2022. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.
