Franklin Baptist Church assists young scholars

Franklin Baptist Church has presented its annual scholarships for 2022. The FBC Scholarship Fund provides financial support to church members who are continuing their education, and the fund has awarded scholarships in excess of $240,500 since its inception in 2005. A solid academic record is required of student applicants. This year’s recipients are, from left, Claudia Stout, a senior at Tidewater Community College pursuing her certification as an occupational therapy assistant; Kayla Felts, a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in human nutrition, foods and exercise; Ashlynn Pearce, a junior at the College of William & Mary majoring in elementary education; Madison Suiter, a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington majoring in history; and Abby Pearce, a sophomore at the University of Virginia majoring in biology. Not pictured is Bryce Simms, a junior at Chowan University majoring in business administration.
