The Franklin High School and Southampton Academy girls volleyball programs got together Wednesday, Aug. 17, for a volleyball scrimmage to kick off the season. A news release noted that in a great display of sportsmanship, the teams gathered for a group picture at the end of the competition. The varsity Lady Raiders opened up their regular season by hosting the Border Classic on Saturday, Aug. 20, while the varsity Lady Broncos began by hosting Amelia County High School on Monday, Aug. 22. “We wish good luck to Southampton Academy and all the local volleyball teams on their upcoming seasons,” FHS Principal Travis Felts said.
