Franklin woman arrested after shooting investigation

The Franklin Police Department responded Saturday morning, Nov. 12, to a shooting that reportedly occurred at Berkley Court Apartments, and police later arrested a Franklin woman in connection with the incident.

An FPD news release stated that at around 8:28 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Cameron Street in Franklin in reference to a disturbance. The release noted that upon arriving on scene, officers learned a person had been shot inside of a residence in Berkley Court Apartments. 

Police said that based upon the evidence recovered and an investigation by FPD personnel, Cameron Street resident Kimberly Faulk, 32, was charged with assault and battery of a family/household member, malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.  

Faulk is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond, the Nov. 12 release stated. 

“The adult victim was transported to (Sentara) Norfolk General Hospital for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

This investigation is ongoing.

The FPD expressed gratitude in the release to the Virginia State Police and the Southampton County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for assistance with this incident.
