Lakeland JV squad too much for Franklin

The Lakeland High School junior varsity boys basketball team pulled away to hand host Franklin High School a 54-24 season-opening home loss Thursday, Dec. 1.
The Cavaliers used a strong full-court press and by the end of the first quarter held a 13-4 lead. At the end of the first half, they were up 21-14.
After the half, the Cavs continued their strong defense, holding the home team to two points in the third quarter and nine points in the fourth.
For the game, sophomore Daevion Person led the Broncos in scoring with nine points, while Zion Swaby had 13 points for Lakeland.
Franklin also fell 46-21 to host Greensville County High School on Monday, Dec. 5.
The Broncos (0-2) return to action at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, when they visit Brunswick High School.
