Meherrin Elementary receives new hydroponics system

Meherrin Elementary School recently announced that it is a proud new recipient of the Agriculture in the Classroom Hyve Hydroponics Giveaway sponsored by Farm Bureau.
A school news release continued by stating that MES was one of four lucky winners out of more than 700 applicants throughout the state of Virginia.
The school was given a HYVE LF-ONE Hydroponic System, and it will be featured in Dawn Wise’s fifth-grade science class and Jennifer Graham’s fourth-grade science class. There, the students will be able to learn about some of the skills and technology utilized within modern agriculture.
“The school would like to thank AITC and Farm Bureau for this generous new learning tool,” MES officials said.
