Lady Dukes top Franklin in overtime JV thriller

With 2.6 seconds remaining in regulation during a recent hard-fought junior varsity girls basketball game between Windsor High School and host Franklin High School, Elizabeth Shoul connected on two free throw attempts to tie the game 22-22, sending it into overtime where the Lady Dukes ultimately triumphed.
The Lady Dukes led 16-12 at the half but fell behind 20-18 with 2:26 remaining in the Jan. 20 game. In overtime, Windsor went on to earn a 27-24 win over the home team.
The Lady Broncos were led in scoring by eighth grader Jayla Joyner with 10 points. For the Lady Dukes, sophomore Eden Powell was the leading scorer with nine points.
In remarks after the game, Windsor Head Coach Wilhelm Johns said, “I think the game went well; this is the JV team’s first win. They came out and fought hard. They also came through a little diversity and did well overall.”
