The second annual Camp25 Volleyball League was a success that drew a total of 80 children across seven teams and two age divisions to the court at Joseph P. King Jr. Middle School in Franklin.
Camp25 Executive Director Eric Benton noted that participants, who ranged in age from 6-14, came from Franklin, Southampton County, Isle of Wight County and Suffolk.
The league, which ran from November to December, was facilitated through a partnership with the Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation.
“We would like to thank Ms. Sammara Green, Mr. Andrew Lowe, Ms. Marie Davis and the entire Franklin Parks & Recreation staff for making this league possible,” Benton said. “We would also like to thank all parents, all volunteer parents, Franklin City Public Schools and, most importantly, all kids that participated.”
The league’s age divisions included a young group, featuring children ages 6-10, and an older group, featuring kids 10-14.
Benton said the league has seen growth from 2021 to 2022.
“We added, this year, about 25 more kids, so we’re right at 80 kids total,” he said.
