NORFOLK – Garry Dean Vasser, 65, passed away on Feb. 6, 2023 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Franklin and raised in the Burdette area of Southampton County, he was a son of the late James Thomas “Totsie” Vasser and Julia Wiggins Vasser Hedgspeth.

Garry was a 1975 graduate of Southampton High School and a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a machinist for Franklin Equipment Company and a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Peggy V. Gray and Patricia V. Lane; a brother, Roger T. Vasser and a host of nieces and nephews.
