Camp Community College has been granted a charter as the Theta Tau Chapter of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society.
As noted in a March 14 CCC news release, Camp becomes just the third community college in Virginia with the honor society designation. As the national advocate for the more than 1,100 associate degree nursing programs across the country, OADN works to advance excellence in nursing education and associate degree pathways into registered nursing careers.
“This is an honor for us,” said Dr. Angela Sheaffer, dean of Nursing & Allied Health at Camp. “This society will open up possibilities for our students in the nursing program for scholarships and professional development opportunities.”
The mission of the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society is to recognize the academic excellence of students in the study of Associate Degree Nursing. The society encourages the pursuit of advanced degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility.
Camp Community College had 32 students graduate from the ADN program in 2022. The college had a record 35 students graduate in 2021.
