SUFFOLK – Clarence Calvin Clark, 85, passed away March 30, 2023 in Consulate He
althcare of Windsor. Born in Easley, South Carolina and raised in Carrsville, he was a son of the late Anderson Henry Clark and Annie Jones Clark. He was also predeceased by his wife, Effie Vick Clark; four sisters, Lydie Howard, Mattie Roach, Bernice Beale and Myrtle Darden; three brothers, Willie Clark, Carl Clark and Rufus Clark; and a grandson, Brandon Cortez.
Clarence was a graduate of Holland High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a pipefitter at Newport News Shipyard for 12 years and Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 24 years. He was a member of Farmers Hunt Club and Joyner Hunt Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Lynn Hall, Janet Leigh Bleiler (Bobby) and Cheryl Ann Boone; a son, William Calvin Clark; a brother, Henry Clark; seven grandchildren, Christina, Ashley, Amber, Christopher, April, Tiffany and Amanda and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Warren Johnson officiating. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad.
