FRANKLIN – Jonas Perry Carpenter, 82, passed away April 15, 2023 in his home. Jonas was a native of Suffolk and was a son of the late Ernest and Susie Duck Carpenter.

Jonas was a retired machine operator in the particle board plant for Union Camp and was a former employee of St. Regis Paper Company and during his retirement was an attendant for the Isle of Wight County trash stations. Jonas had a very strong work ethic.

Left to cherish his memory is a son, Christopher Noel Carpenter; a brother, Mack H. Carpenter; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 19 at 11 a.m. in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin. The burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and suggests memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
