The board of directors and executive director of Western Tidewater Free Clinic recently announced Blake A. Marton, CFRE, as the clinic’s new director of development.
An April 3 WTFC news release noted that Marton is uniquely qualified to serve in this role given his experience in nonprofit fundraising development. He is a Western Branch resident and is excited about growing strong relationships locally and regionally.
Officials stated that his knowledge of health care fundraising, donor stewardship and cultivation and planned giving will give him much success in this role at the clinic.
Marton graduated with a master’s degree in higher education from Geneva College and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Grove City College, both in Pennsylvania. He is an Association of Fundraising Professionals – Hampton Roads Chapter board member and serves as the ethics chair. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, an achievement that is the culmination of his knowledge and professionalism in the fundraising profession.
Executive Director Ashley Greene said, “Blake will be a wonderful addition to our strong team culture. He is well known in the region and will bring excellence of purpose to our development efforts. The board and I are very pleased to have Blake on board!”
As a clinic team member, Marton will support the critical work of the clinic staff and volunteers who provide comprehensive health care to an average of 1,400 patients per year at WTFC. These patients are seen in thousands of appointments, including medical, dental, mental health, women’s health and pharmacy visits.
The release concluded with officials stating that the WTFC Board of Directors and Greene are delighted Marton will be serving as the director of development and eager for what the future will be with his addition to the leadership team.
