COURTLAND – Michael Irving Runion, 75, passed away April 20, 2023 in Sentara Obici Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Everett “Tony” Hamlet and Mildred Hunt “Millie” Staples.

Michael served in the U.S. Army and was a small engine technician. He was a former employee of Dail’s Hardware and Advance Auto Parts.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sharron Presson Runion; three sons, Michael I. Runion Jr., Bryan Carter, and Brandon Presson; a sister, Beth Hooker; a brother, Craig Hamlet; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 in Courtland Baptist Church with Dr. John Paul Lotz and Dr. Robert Carter officiating.
