Broncos, Indians soccer teams to face off in district tourney

The Franklin High School varsity boys soccer team won big in a game against Brunswick High School on Wednesday, May 10, in a game played at Armory Drive Park Sports Facility.
After a slow first half with the Broncos ahead 1-0, Franklin came back in the second half and added six more goals to claim a 7-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Broncos Head Coach Jonathan Smith remarked after the game, “We have had a slow start to the season, but over the past few weeks, we have really come together as a team and have beaten some strong opponents. I cannot wait to see what this team does in the district and regional tournaments in the coming weeks.”
Franklin opened its run in the Tri-Rivers District Tournament with a 2-1 overtime victory over Windsor High School Monday, May 15.
The Broncos (8-9) will travel to face Southampton High School (10-5) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17.
The Indians advanced past the first round of the district tourney on Monday with a 6-3 victory over Appomattox Regional Governor’s School.
