Camp Community College’s baseball team lost 6-3 to No. 7 Herkimer College (39-8) on Monday, May 29, which eliminated the Hurricanes from the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III World Series in Greeneville, Tennessee.
The No. 6-seeded Hurricanes opened play in the eight-team double-elimination tournament on Saturday, May 27, when they took on No. 3 Niagara County Community College. The Thunderwolves improved to 43-5 on the season when they defeated Camp 5-1.
The two World Series losses bring to an end a historic season for the Hurricanes, who made the postseason for the first time in program history, advancing all the way to the national tourney after winning the Region 10 and Mid-Atlantic District championships.
Camp finished the year with an overall record of 33-19.
