FRANKLIN – Joseph Lawrence “Larry” Long Jr., 80, passed away on April 25, 2023 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, raised in Wakefield and a former resident of Greensboro, he was a son of the late Joseph Lawrence “Shorty” Long Sr. and Lucy Mae Taylor Long. He was also predeceas

ed by his sister, Alice Green.
Larry was a 1964 graduate of Virginia Tech and was a retired screen printing sales representative.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tamara Holt “Tami” Long and Pamela Ann “Pam” Anderson both of Knightdale, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Logan and Lainey Anderson; and his dearest best friend, Barbara Wade.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to American Diabetes Association.
