Franklin police discover deceased man

The Franklin Police Department responded to a call to North Franklin Street on Monday, June 26, and discovered a deceased male who had an apparent gunshot wound.
An FPD news release noted that at around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, the City of Franklin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a call of an unresponsive subject at 305 N. Franklin St. in Franklin.
Upon arrival officers located an adult male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, deceased inside of that location, police said. After completion of the on-scene investigation, the male was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk.
The Monday afternoon release noted that at that time, the FPD was continuing an active investigation but was not looking for suspects, and there was no danger to the community.
