Franklin High School did not let the 2022-23 school year end without ensuring that its students received proper recognition for their achievements in spring sports and activities.
FHS Assistant Athletic Director Catherine Brown presided over the school’s annual spring sports and activities awards program held in the school’s auditorium June 9.
After opening remarks by FHS Assistant Principal Dr. Robert Parsons, the program started with the presentation of awards for all sports/activities held during the spring season. This included boys and girls tennis; junior varsity and varsity softball; JV and varsity baseball; soccer; Special Olympics; JV and varsity outdoor track and field; and theatre.
After each coach presented their teams, talked about the season and gave out their special awards, it was time for the MVP awards. These awards were announced by each coach for the Most Valuable Player from their team.
The highest awards, the Bronco Award and Bronkette Award, were presented by FHS Principal Travis Felts to Jordan Johnson and Trinity Everette, respectively.
After the presentation, Felts stated, “Once again, we have two great representatives of Franklin High School for the Bronco and Bronkette awards. These awards go to one male senior and one female senior who not only excel in sports, but also in academics, leadership, character and sportsmanship. Both Jordan and Trinity embody what this award is all about.”
At the conclusion of the award presentations, a reception was held in the cafeteria.
