BOYKINS – Timothy Wayne Baker, 64, passed away Aug. 15, 2023 in Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born in Nash County, North Carolina and raised in Hunterdale, he was a truck driver for Meherrin Chemical and spent 19 years with Atlantic Wood Industries. He was a lifetime member of Shiloh Hunt Club and his passion was his garden and produce stand that he worked with his dear friend, Bubba Gray.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Stone Lee Baker; his mother, Jackie Baker Hicks; his wife, Vicky Vick Baker; a sister, Betty B. Whitehurst; a brother, Edward Neil Baker; a brother-in-law, Stephan Vick; mother-in-law, Margaret Vick, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr. and the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Boykins Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 347, Boykins, VA 23827 or the American Brain Foundation, 201 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Courtland Healthcare for their wonderful care of Tim.
