FRANKLIN – Minister Carolyn Mitchell, 68, of Southampton County, transitioned on Sept. 22, 2023. Carolyn is predeceased by her parents George T. Taylor and Rosa M. Brown and four siblings. She was the sixth child of 18. Carolyn is survived by her four children, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one goddaughter.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel, 1717 South Street in Franklin. The service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. in White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 26125 Delaware Road in Franklin. The family has entrusted Vaughan-Temple Funeral Home in Franklin with the care and services of Minister Carolyn ‘Sister’ Mitchell.
