Franklin-Southampton Concert Series begins Oct. 10

The 2023-24 Franklin-Southampton Community Concert Series begins Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by The Starlets in the Southampton High School auditorium.
The series is presented by the Franklin-Southampton Community Concert Association and is expected to feature six different concerts, all held in the SHS auditorium.
A news release from the association noted that The Starlets take listeners on a musical journey through the 1950s and 1960s. The powerhouse female vocal trio performs the sounds of pop, doo wop, R&B and Motown, and the trio members dazzle audiences with their fabulous costumes, sizzling choreography and audience engagement. Their repertoire includes familiar hits like “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “These Boots Are Made For Walking” and “Stop! In The Name Of Love.”
As the 2023-24 concert series continues, The Sounds of Silence Tribute, which features music from the 1970s Greenwich Folk Village Scene, is set for Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m.; The Suits, a men’s quartet performing four genres of hit music across four decades, is slated for Monday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m.; the Virginia Symphony Orchestra will perform Friday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.; Key of G Live!, a tribute to country superstar Garth Brooks, is scheduled for Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m.; and Bennie & the Jets, the premier Elton John tribute group, is set for Friday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m.
