Amy Jiggetts, accounting manager at Riverdale Elementary School’s is making waves as Southampton County Public Schools’ first swim coach. Jiggetts, an avid swimmer, wanted to share her passion for swimming with Southampton County Public Schools’ students and her own children. The swim club, which was formed in 2022, is open to Southampton County Public Schools in grades 7-12 who know how to swim and have a sports physical. Registration is free, slots are limited, deadline to join is Nov. 30 Keep in mind the season is short and ends in January. Practices are held at the James L. Camp Jr. Family YMCA in Franklin, Monday through Thursday from 3-5:00 p.m. Participants must bring their own swimsuits, towels and goggles.
