The 2023 Bluewater Rentals/Mid-Atlantic Dairy Queen Holiday Classic will conclude Friday evening, Dec. 29, with an opportunity for the Franklin High School varsity boys basketball team to avenge its championship game loss to Brunswick High School in the 2022 edition of the classic.

The FHS-hosted classic began this year with Brunswick decisively defeating Nandua High School, 71-43, on Thursday evening, Dec. 28. In the night cap, the Broncos edged Lawrence Academy, of North Carolina, 51-47.

On Friday, Nandua will face Lawrence Academy in the consolation game at 6 p.m., and then at 7:30 p.m., the Franklin Broncos (7-2) will once again face off against the Brunswick Bulldogs (5-3). In the ’22 Holiday Classic title game, Brunswick topped the Broncos 68-63.

The two teams have faced each other once already this season in Lawrenceville on Dec. 13 when Franklin narrowly defeated the Bulldogs 60-58.

Tickets are $10, and spectators are advised to arrive early Friday at the Peggy H. Wilkins Gymnasium at Franklin High School.
