FRANKLIN – Rev. Sylvia B. Jordan, 70, born on Oct. 16, 1953, in Franklin, transitioned on Jan. 21, 2024, to the late Timothy A. Banks Sr. and Marjorie B. Darden. She was the third child born to this union.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Hickory Grove AME Zion Church and was baptized on Sept. 1,1963 at the Sedley Mill Pond under the leadership of the late Rev. Claudius D. Miles. As a child she participated in the Junior Choir and Sunday School.

A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 26 from 1 – 5 p.m. in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel, 1717 South Street in Franklin. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Hickory Grove AME Zion Church, 1419 Mariner Street in Franklin.
