VIRGINIA BEACH – Diane J. Goodwyn of Virginia Beach, entered her eternal rest on Feb. 10, 2024 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Her earthly journey began in Capron, Virginia on March 19, 1952, born to Leroy and Ada J. Joyner.

Diane received her education in Southampton County Public School System. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Capron. Diane was devoted to her family and enjoyed family and friends.

Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Walter M. Goodwyn; one son, Walter M. Goodwyn Jr.; two sisters, Annette J. Dillard, Wendy M. Joyner; one brother, Marland Joyner; one grandchild, Rhea Goodwyn, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

On Saturday, a public viewing will be held at the funeral home from 3 – 7 p.m. A celebration of love will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Scott’s Revival Church, 1816 South Street, in Franklin with the Rev. H. Keith Rose delivering the message of hope; Dr. Evelyn Square is the pastor. The committal and benediction will follow in Pine Level Church Cemetery in Capron.
